Michael Badnarik on Immigration
Libertarian Party nominee for President
|
Eliminate restriction on work permits
Why do Badnarik and Campagna deserve the support of Latinos?- Eliminate restriction on work permits
- Eliminate federal governments ability to arrest and hold Latinos without due process
- We know that most Latinos come to the United States to
work hard and provide a better life for themselves and their families. This is to be admired and encouraged.
- We will eliminate INS harassment of law abiding Latinos.
- We will encourage trade with all Spanish speaking countries.

No welfare incentives for immigrants (or anyone)
Q: Are both major political parties pandering for Hispanic votes while avoiding the politically sensitive issues of immigration?A: As a Libertarian, I oppose redistributionist welfare programs. As president, I'd work to eliminate them. Right now, the
US is a magnet for people seeking a handout. I want us to demagnetize ourselves in that respect. A more open immigration regime, coupled with the elimination of welfare incentives, would greatly reduce the resources needed to provide real border security

Open immigration based on just a criminal background check
My goal is to encourage legitimate immigration-people coming to the US to live free and work hard-while defending the nation against enemies who come here to harm it and parasites who come here to live on government largesse. I advocate open immigration
for individuals who are willing to enter at a Customs station and submit to a quick background check to ensure that they aren't criminals or terrorists. And I advocate treating people who cross the borders elsewhere as what they are: invaders.
