Wesley Clark on Families & Children

NATO General; Democratic Candidate for President

Give workers flexibility & increase production

During my time in the Army, I learned that a soldier didn’t perform to his or her full potential when they were worried about their family or kids. That’s why I am going to work with employers and employees to make sure that American workers have the flexibility they need-including child care, paid leave to take care of sick loved ones, and elder care-to be productive and take care of their families.

Same sex couples should have same rights as heterosexuals

It is in the best interest of our country to promote stable communities and families. I believe same-sex couples should not be denied rights to pensions, health insurance, family medical leave, bereavement leave, hospital visitation, survivor benefits, and other basic legal protections that all families and children need. Give federal employees the right to name same-sex partners as beneficiaries.
