The laws that the Justice Department is ignoring are the very ones they should be most focused on - laws against illegal gun trafficking, selling guns to minors, selling guns in a school zone. Ask Congress to close the gun show loophole.
Under the Brady Law more than a million individuals have been prevented from purchasing guns because a background check revealed a felony conviction. These same individuals, however, can walk into a gun show and buy the same gun-with no questions asked.

Renew ban on assault weapons, & hold gun makers accountable
Renew the assault weapons ban. Make sure that guns are designed with safety as a priority. Retain the records of gun purchase background checks as a tool for investigating crime. We should require fingerprinting
of guns and create a national database. The industry should not be given special protections from civil liability when injury or death results from its failure to use reasonable care in the design, distribution, security, or sale.

People who like assault weapons should join the Army
