Chuck Baldwin in Survey of 2008 Presidential campaign websites
On Abortion:
God begins human life at fertilization
The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being created in God’s image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. It is, therefore, the duty of all civil governments, and that certainly
includes the office of the President of the United States, to secure and to safeguard the lives of the pre-born. I affirm the God-given legal person hood of all unborn human beings, without exception.

On Budget & Economy:
Restore a debt free, interest free money system
I would work to expunge the Federal Reserve and to restore the American economy to sound money. The Fed’s economic policies, in addition to the irresponsible spending of politicians in Washington have lead directly to the collapse of the dollar.
No system of “debt money” should ever again be imposed on the people of the United States. We will work to restore a debt free, interest free money system that works for the people of this country & not for the benefit of the international banking cartel

On Corporations:
Restore manufacturing base, not multinational corporations
A Baldwin Administration will be concerned about the general welfare of the American people--which includes preserving and restoring America’s manufacturing base, so terribly eroded by the recent catastrophic economic policies of the Democrat and
Republican parties, therefore providing opportunities for Americans to have a good paying job to support themselves and their families. Chuck Baldwin will work for American people, not for multinational corporations!

On Education:
Tax relief for homeschooling, private & religious schools
I support the right of parents to provide for the education of their children in the manner they deem best, including homeschooling... and my administration will oppose any federal legislation that would interfere with or restrict that liberty.
I wholeheartedly support the unimpeded right of parents to provide for the education of their children in the manner they deem best, including homeschooling or private or religious instruction.
My Administration will oppose any and all federal legislation that would interfere with or restrict that liberty.
I support equitable tax relief for families whose children do not attend government schools. “Education” will only
start to improve in this country when control of the education of our children is returned to the states, the local communities and, most importantly, to the parents.

On Education:
Disband the Department of Education; it’s unconstitutional
If I were President, I would disband the Department of Education. Does anybody really believe that, despite the billions of dollars spent, that the “education system” is not deteriorating at a rapid pace in the United States?
Maybe it’s time to get back to the basics, including following the Constitution of these United States: the 10th Amendment sets forth: ‘The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the
States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.’Because the federal government has absolutely no jurisdiction concerning the education of our children, the United States Department of Education will be abolished under a
Chuck Baldwin Administration, and I will work to have all federal legislation related to education repealed. I oppose enactment of any federal laws subsidizing or regulating the education of children.

On Environment:
Champion property rights & oppose eminent domain abuse
I will champion the property rights of individuals & families and I will oppose eminent domain abuse whenever and wherever I find it in this country! We must not allow government to violate the property rights of citizens for the private financial
benefit of developers or special commercial interests. Eminent Domain abuse is often simply another form of corporate welfare. I will provide strong and vocal leadership to stand up for the property rights of Americans and against eminent domain abuse.

On Foreign Policy:
End international meddling of the New World Order
We will stop this international meddling and empire building. When Chuck Baldwin is sworn in as President of these United States the ‘New World Order’ comes crashing down! The United States is properly a free and sovereign republic which should strive
to live in peace with all nations, without interfering in their internal affairs, and without permitting their interference in ours.
No matter which of the two major parties wins the White House, our troops would continue to be used for
UN missions all over the world. They would continue to stick our nose wherever it does not belong. They would continue our utopian plans of nation-building, empire-building and international meddling.
When I become President empire building and playing policeman of the world will come to an immediate halt and the United States of America will once again begin conducting itself as the Republic it was meant to be.“

On Foreign Policy:
No US participation in United Nations or world court
As President, I will terminate United States membership in the United Nations. The United Nations will have to find a new address; when I am President all funding for the United Nations stops!I strongly oppose
American participation in any form of world government organization, including any world court. As President I will terminate United States membership in the United Nations, and its subsidiary organizations, and terminate
US participation in all so-called UN peace keeping operations and I would bar the United Nations, and its subsidiaries, from further operation, including raising of funds, on United States territory.
American troops must serve only under American commanders, and as long as I am President American forces will never serve under the flag of the United Nations or any foreign country.

On Free Trade:
No North American Union; no NAFTA Superhighway
The globalists, with their ideas of a common currency here in the United State with a North American Union and a NAFTA Superhighway are after our sovereignty, our freedom and our national independence. I will stand up for the economic security and
independence of our people and the sovereignty of our American republic. The globalists are seeking to erase our borders and merge the United States into a North American Union with Canada and Mexico that would be the end of the
United States as a sovereign nation and would be a stepping stone toward the merger of the United States into a World Government dominated by the United Nations.
We see our country and its workers as much more than bargaining chips for multinational
corporations and international banks in their ill-conceived and evil New World Order. At every turn I will stand up for the economic security and well being of the American people and for the independence and sovereignty of our American republic.

On Government Reform:
Eliminate Food and Drug Administration as unconstitutional
The federal government has no Constitutional provision to regulate or restrict the freedom of the people to have access to medical care, supplies or treatments. I, therefore, support the elimination of the federal Food and Drug
Administration, as it has been the federal agency primarily responsible for prohibiting beneficial products, treatments, and technologies here in the United States that are freely available in much of the rest of the civilized world.

On Gun Control:
2nd Amendment protects our liberty! Go buy a gun!
The Second Amendment Protects Our Liberty! To help keep your family safe and your country free, go buy a gun.The right to keep and bear arms may not properly be infringed upon or denied. Therefore, a Baldwin Administration will uphold the
right of the citizens to keep and bear arms and will oppose attempts to prohibit ownership of guns by law-abiding citizens, and, further, will stand against all laws which would require the registration of guns or ammunition.

On Health Care:
Freedom of choice for all healthcare decisions
I strongly support the freedom of choice for all citizens in their health care decisions and management! I strongly support the freedom of choice of practitioner and treatment! Government regulation and subsidy constitutes a threat to both the quality
and availability of patient-oriented health care and treatment. Hospitals, doctors, and other health care providers should be accountable to patients--not to politicians, insurance bureaucrats, or HMO Administrators.
If the supply of medical care is controlled by the federal government, then officers of that government will determine which demand is satisfied. The result will be the rationing of services, higher costs, poorer results--and the power of life and death
transferred from caring physicians to unaccountable political overseers.
I support proposals for employee-controlled “family coverage” health insurance plans based on cash value life insurance principles.

On Health Care:
No subsidies for HMOs; no forced vaccinations
I condemn and will oppose any legislation designed to secure government subsidies for special interests, such as the HMOs, and/or to protect the artificially high cost to consumers of prescription drugs.
A Baldwin Administration will work to put an end to corporate welfare in all areas, including the health care industry.
I further support the right of patients to seek redress of their grievances through the courts against insurers and/or HMO’s.I also oppose any legislation, such as Homeland Security Bill,
H.R. 5005, which seeks to authorize the forced vaccination of American citizens against small pox. The government should not have the power to force people to receive immunizations or vaccinations.

On Homeland Security:
Deploy a fully-operational strategic defense system
I further support the deployment of a fully-operational strategic defense system as soon as possible. We will not allow a unilateral disarmament and dismemberment of America’s defense infrastructure. History shows that which is hastily torn down is
not easily rebuilt. Recent history also shows that foreign military adventurism is likewise destructive to this nation’s national security capability. I will insist that all defense expenditures should be directly related to the protection of our nation.

On Homeland Security:
Resist reducing benefits to veterans and their survivors
I am eternally grateful to America’s veterans who have sacrificed so much to protect our nation and to preserve our liberty and, as President, I will honor our nation’s commitment to them in every way.
I will vigorously resist the attempt by any government agency to nullify or reduce earned benefits to veterans and their survivors, including but not limited to, compensation, pensions, education, and health care.

On Homeland Security:
Strong national defense that is second to none
We will have a national defense that is second to none, with armed forces that serve only under the American flag, and whose mission will be to defend these United States of America! It is a primary obligation of the federal government to provide for
the common defense of the USA, and to be vigilant regarding potential threats, prospective capabilities, and perceived intentions of potential enemies.
The maintenance of a strong, state-of-the-art military on land, sea, in the air, and in space will b
of the highest priority in a Baldwin Administration. I strongly support the modernization of our armed forces, in keeping with advancing technologies and a constantly changing world situation.
I will insist that all defense expenditures should
be directly related to the protection of our nation, and that every item of expenditure must be carefully reviewed to eliminate foreign aid, waste, fraud, theft, inefficiency, and excess profits from all defense contracts and military expenditures.

On Homeland Security:
PATRIOT Act violates principles of 4th & 5th Amendments
Great are the dangers of giving unlimited, unconstitutional power to a government that does not respect the checks and balances intended by our Constitution and Bill of Rights! In the wake of 9/11 and the so-called ‘War on Terror’ we have seen legislatio
and executive action that deprives the American people of their rights secured under the Fourth and Fifth Amendments under the guise of “combating terrorism” or “protecting national security.”Examples of such legislation are the National Security
Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the proposed Domestic Securities Enhancement Act (known as ‘Patriot II’). The USA PATRIOT Act permits arrests without warrants and secret detention without counsel, wiretaps without court supervision, searches
and seizures without notification to the individual whose property is invaded, and a host of other violations of the legal safeguards our nation has historically developed according to principles descending from the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.

On Immigration:
Seal borders; no amnesty; no social services for illegals
The time for rhetoric is over. We will seal our borders and ports. I support construction of a fence to secure our borders, but a Baldwin Administration will not wait for the construction of a fence in order to seal and secure our borders.
We will utilize whatever force is necessary, including military personnel, to effectively secure our borders immediately. By sealing the borders and by cutting off the money supply to illegal aliens, the problem of illegal immigration would dry up.
As it is, we have no idea how many potential terrorists have snuck (and are sneaking) through our borders.
There will be no “path to citizenship” given to any illegal alien. That means no amnesty. Not in any shape, manner, or form.
I would not allow tax dollars to be used to pay for illegal aliens’ education, social services, or medical care. As President, I would end birthright citizenship for illegal aliens. There would be no “anchor babies” during my administration.

On Jobs:
Reimpose tariffs on all foreign imports to keep jobs here
In order to keep jobs in this country, we need to have a trade policy that works in the best interest of the American people. To this end, I favor a tariff based revenue system, originally implemented by our founding fathers, & which was the policy of th
United States during most of our nation’s history. A tariff on foreign imports, based on the difference between the foreign item’s cost of production abroad and the cost of production of a similar item produced in the United States, would be a
Constitutional step toward a fair trade policy that would protect American jobs and, at the same time, raise revenue for our national government.A Chuck
Baldwin Presidency would signal the end to the stranglehold that the modern day moneychangers have over our economy and provide the opportunity for a rebirth of the American dream.

On Tax Reform:
End income tax, death tax, and property tax
Our economy should be designed to provide opportunities and freedom for the millions of average Americans across this great country, not to insure profits for international bankers and multinational corporations. When I become President,
I will work feverishly to overturn the Sixteenth Amendment, which would repeal the Income Tax. And, no, I would not promote a national sales tax. That would be disastrous! Can you imagine what a 30% sales tax would do to the cost of EVERYTHING?
Plus, give politicians a national sales tax to increase and just imagine what kind of percent that would grow into!
I would also work to repeal the “death tax,” inheritance taxes, and property taxes.
The American people are already paying somewhere between 30% and 40% of their income to Uncle Sam. It must stop. We are bankrupting our country with this incessant and burdensome tax system.

On Technology:
Bush has built a universal surveillance society
Secret ‘suspicious activity reports’ filed by financial institutions and reviewed by teams of agents spread around the country. The American people are largely unaware that they are now living in a universal surveillance society.
Virtually every major financial transaction--as well as much of their travel--is reported and monitored by the federal government. This total surveillance system, that began in earnest under Bill Clinton’s administration, has mushroomed into a
ubiquitous and finely tuned science under George W. Bush. Dare I say that Dubya’s neurotic fixation with spying on ordinary citizens rivals Comrade Stalin’s paranoiac obsession with a total surveillance society? You and I are constantly being
watched, listened to, monitored, taped, and stalked by our own government. So, do any of us really believe that we still live in a free country? A Chuck Baldwin Administration will bring an immediate end to the surveillance state.

On War & Peace:
We have become an occupation force in sovereign Iraq
If I were President, I would begin the process of safely extracting our troops from Iraq. In the first place, our troops are no longer fighting a war, they are an occupation force, which occupies a sovereign country. And this is being done without a
Declaration of War. The Iraqi people resent our occupation as much as we would resent another nation stronger than ours invading and occupying America. If such a thing happened to our beloved country,
I’m sure many of us would also become “insurgents.”In the second place, the invasion and occupation of Iraq was absolutely unnecessary. Instead of sacrificing more than 4,000 American lives and the lives of tens of thousands of
Iraqi citizens (not to mention some $2-3 trillion dollars). Neither of the two major parties has any interest in bringing our troops home.
