Andy Vidak: Preserve the right to purchase, possess and use firearms

As a lifelong outdoorsman and sportsman, I appreciate the great tradition of hunting and sport shooting that many of our Valley residents value and preserve. I firmly believe in the right of the individual to defend themselves, their family, and their property when attacked. As a supporter of the second amendment I am committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding citizens to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes.

Austin Scott: Second Amendment is one of most important in Bill of Rights

Austin is a gun owner, avid hunter and a lifetime member of the NRA. He believes that the Second Amendment's protection of citizens' right to keep and bear arms is one of the most important provisions of the Bill of Rights. Austin understands the threat which anti-gun advocates in the Obama Administration and Congress continue to pose to our gun rights. Austin will fight to preserve our Second Amendment rights and our ability to secure the safety of our homes and families.

Protecting Our 2nd Amendment Rights: I am a gun owner, a Concealed Handgun License holder, and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). As such, I am fully aware that the 2nd Amendment is as fundamental to our American heritage as every other part of the Constitution. I will always support our 2nd Amendment and stand in the way of those who wish to criminalize this important right of our citizens.

Bill Huizenga: Interstate right-to-carry needed for an armed citizenry

I am proud to be an American citizen that "clings to guns and religion." I am a longtime gun-owner because I recognize that the Second Amendment was written to insure that America would have not only an informed citizenry, but an armed citizenry.

One piece of gun rights legislation that I would support as a congressman is a national "Right-to-Carry" law. This law is already on the books in 40 states, but is confusing for travelers, who have to check the books every time they pass an interstate line.

Bill Johnson: Protect concealed carry laws and expand states' reciprocity

Second amendment gun rights are a fundamental right that should and must be protected. Over the last two years, the U.S. Supreme Court has protected gun rights in two substantial cases, but those decisions were close 5-4 victories. We must be unrelenting in our defense of law-abiding citizens to own guns. Furthermore, for Ohioans, we should protect concealed carry laws and expand state-to-state reciprocity.

Billy Long: Government should not impede upon the Second Amendment

Billy Long believes that government should not impede upon the Second Amendment. The Constitution protects our right to keep and bear arms, whether for defense or sport, and Billy will oppose any effort to weaken this right. He will vigorously fight any attempts to reinstate the assault weapons ban or any other legislation that would limit the right of law-abiding citizens to own guns.

Bob Gibbs: Protect our right to keep and bear arms

As a life-member of the NRA, I am proud to have received previous NRA endorsements in all of my legislative races to date. In Congress, I will continue my record of supporting legislation that protects our right to keep and bear arms. I am proud to have received an A rating from the NRA based on my legislative voting record, and I will continue to stand up for the rights of sportsmen and gun owners.

Bobby Schilling: Elected officials must uphold Second Amendment

As stated in The Constitution, 'the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.' It is the responsibility of our elected officials to uphold this Second Amendment right; The right to defend ones' self is paramount to sustaining a free society. If you put a hammer and a gun on a table, neither are good or evil, the person that picks up the hammer or the gun makes that determination.

Charles Djou: Constitution gives individual citizens right to bear arms

I cherish the principles of limited government and individual liberty enshrined in our nation's founding documents. I believe what makes this nation great is not the vastness of our government, or the intricacy of our laws, but rather the freedom of individual citizens. I believe that our country's constitution very clearly gives individual citizens the right to bear and keep arms. I have always supported and will continue to support safe, legal and responsible ownership of guns.

I believe the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is unambiguous. The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed under the Constitution. The right to keep and bear arms goes beyond the collective right of militias and is, in fact, an individual right.

Chuck Fleischmann: Limiting gun rights is unconstitutional

Gun Control proponents across the country are trying to limit and take away the right of individuals to possess firearms. Such actions are both unconstitutional and a threat to our liberty. As a member of Congress, I will strongly oppose any legislation that threatens our 2nd Amendment rights.

Dan Benishek: Vigorously defend the Second Amendment

SECOND AMENDMENT. The right to bear arms outlined in the Second Amendment must be vigorously defended. The broader principle--the right of citizens to defend against tyranny--as espoused by the Founding Fathers must acknowledged as a fundamental tenant of the Bills of Rights.
