Decriminalize marijuana

The complete legalization of drugs, especially hard narcotics, is not a good idea, but the decriminalization of marijuana-turning the possession of small amounts into a fineable offense instead of a felony-is certainly overdue. Too many young people are in prison instead of college on account of drug laws that are about as effective as the prohibition laws of the last century.
