Balanced federal budget is an eminently achievable goal

In 2011, with one voice, the American people demanded concrete progress on balancing the bloated federal budget. In response, Congress went on vacation. The single most important roadblock to a balanced federal budget and manageable national debt is the career politician with a finger in the wind. Political cowardice driven by the career politician's hunger for re-election has bankrupted our Republic.

A balanced federal budget is an eminently achievable goal. All of the tools which Congress requires to write a balanced federal budget are already present in the Constitution. Essential to success is the will to use them. There is no mystery about it.

Balancing the budget gets harder the longer we wait to do it. Let us begin a serious effort in 2012 by electing patriots with the determination and integrity to put personal gain and party affiliation aside to get the results our country needs.
