Taxpayers First: mandate public vote for increasing debt

Steve Lonegan is New Jersey's number one advocate for the overtaxed citizen. He is running for Governor to stand up for taxpayers, reverse the Corzine social engineering agenda and make New Jersey a great place to live, work, run a business and raise a family once again.

Steve was a successful small business owner who was elected Mayor of Bogota in 1995, defeating a longtime incumbent who left town finances in shambles. As Mayor, Steve stood up to powerful public employee labor unions and local left-wing interest groups, bringing a "Taxpayers First" philosophy to borough government.

Mayor Lonegan kept taxes low and his Taxpayer Protection Act mandates a public vote for new municipal debt or public employee contracts exceeding inflation.
