Post the Ten Commandments in public arenas

In 2003 Jody was thrust into the public arena when the ACLU sued the Barrow County Board of Commissioners to force removal of a Ten Commandments display from the Courthouse. Viewing this as an attack upon the freedom of religious expression and upon the cultural and spiritual heritage of our nation, Jody founded Ten Commandments-Georgia, Inc. to assist in supporting the county's legal defense.

Shortly thereafter, Jody established Let Freedom Ring (now The Culture and Values Network) to defend constitutional liberty.

In September 2008--and in years since, Dr. Hice joined with pastors across the nation in challenging an IRS code that he considers an attack upon religious liberty. The IRS threatened churches with loss of tax-exempt status and with criminal sanctions if political issues were addressed from the pulpit. Hice took his bold stand by formally endorsing a candidate in a Sunday message and sending a copy of it to the IRS. The IRS backed down.

Freedom without Judeo-Christian context leads to corruption

[Islamists such as Hamas' leader] believes the Islamic worldview is superior because it is more moral. Their culture will not tolerate such vile behavior as our 'freedoms' permit. He hates what our liberties have given to the world. Frankly, few people could blame him for his abhorrence of the U.S. for our immorality.

Unfortunately, in his criticism he has misdiagnosed the problem. The problem is not our FREEDOM; it has served us, and the world well for centuries. The problem is that we are trying to exercise liberty from a secular humanist worldview, and it does not work! 'Freedom' within any context other than a Judeo-Christian one, only leads to corruption. 'Freedom' without boundaries is not freedom; it breeds degradation.

On the other hand, it should also be stated that [any other] philosophy will not work either. You cannot force morality upon people--morality must come from within.

Islam is incompatible with America's founding principles

Islam is Incompatible with America's Foundation: Our Founding Fathers gave us a nation firmly established upon Judeo-Christian principles. This condition alone describes the major problem with any discussion of Islam and the American way of life. In fact, the system of government the Founders designed would not succeed in any other environment than Christian. If America continues to 'flirt' with the erroneous effort toward leniency with Islam, she will eventually fall with no capacity to rise again. We are already dangerously close. Islam's mindset is not one of tolerance with America, but control and dominance. There is no room for merging two opposing philosophies. The ground on which the ideological war is being fought is worldview. Saturating the soil of these foundational beliefs and values rests the blood of untold soldiers over centuries past. They died, not merely for 'freedom,' but for our distinctive Christian society.

Endorsed Young Gun "On the Radar" in national GOP "Drive to245".

Hice is endorsed by National Republican Congressional Committee 2014 targeting

The National Republican Congressional Committee has defined three categories in its "Young Guns" list, and a new fundraising website Drive to 245. Inclusion in the program indicates funding from the NRCC to the candidates, mostly via PAC-funded TV advertising:

    Press Release from NRCC
  1. The first level of the program: "On the Radar" candidates are individuals running in competitive congressional seats. They have met the minimum threshold in campaign organization and show potential to achieve greater status in the program as the cycle progresses.
  2. "Contender" is the second level of the Young Guns program. Contender candidates have completed stringent program metrics and are on the path to developing a mature and competitive campaign operation. They are in congressional seats that appear favorable to the GOP candidate.
  3. "Young Gun" is the highest level of the Young Guns program. These candidates have met a series of rigorous goals and surpassed program benchmarks to establish a clear path to victory.

Member of the Republican Study Committee.

Hice is a member of the Republican Study Committee

Organizational Self-Description: The Republican Study Committee (RSC) has served as the conservative caucus of House Republicans and a leading influencer on the Right since its original founding in 1973. It exists to bring like-minded House members together to promote a strong, principled legislative agenda that will limit government, strengthen our national defense, boost America's economy, preserve traditional values and balance our budget.

The RSC provides the tools and research that members of Congress need to craft and advance policies that will benefit the American people. It also provides a forum for like-minded members to join together to support common causes and challenge the status quo. By doing so, the RSC ensures that conservatives have a powerful voice on every issue coming before the House, whether it is the economy, health care, defense, social safety net reform, or Washington's dangerous, out-of-control spending.

We believe that the appropriate role of a limited government is to protect liberty, opportunity, and security, and that it is the responsibility of this generation to preserve them for the next. We believe that more government is the problem, not the sol

Member of the House Freedom Caucus.

Hice is a member of the House Freedom Caucus

Excerpts from press release from House Freedom Caucus (HFC) founders (1/26/15): According to its mission statement, the HFC "gives a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. We support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans." HFC leader Rep. Mark Meadows said, "The HFC will work to provide a unified conservative voice in the House Republican Conference. I look forward to working with leadership to make the concerns of conservatives known as we work together to advance a pro-growth, limited government agenda in the House."

Excerpts from Wikipedia article on HFC: The HFC is a congressional caucus consisting of conservative Republican members of the US House of Representatives. It was formed by a group of Congressmen as a "smaller, more cohesive, more agile and more active" group of conservatives. Many members are also part of the Republican Study Committee, another conservative House group. The caucus is sympathetic to the Tea Party movement.

Supporting argument: (Heritage Foundation, "Conservatives and the HFC," by Jim DeMint, 11/9/2015): The HFC had the audacity to challenge the status quo in Congress, and in the eyes of Washington's elites, that's a serious offense. For years, Washington's chattering class has guarded the status quo Establishment. But despite the howls of media outrage, the HFC has fought to stop business-as-usual in Washington. They are dedicated to [ending] the irresponsible federal spending we've seen over the last decade. This support for commonsense policies has led the Establishment to brand them as "radical" and "ultra-conservative." In reality they are merely advocating for doing what Republican leaders pledged to do. The Freedom Caucus exists to serve as a strong, conservative conscience guiding Congress.
