Too much protecting environment & not enough adding housing

UCC: What about housing costs?

Gabrieli: We have an imbalance between supply and demand for housing and we have failed to increase the supply. Nobody's for unchecked sprawl. No one's for growth that would be devastating the environment. However we've done too good a job of protection and not enough of a good job of addition and we need to revisit that. I think we can do a lot by the stick, like 40B, but also with carrots that reward communities for participation in housing expansion.
