Ed Rendell on Principles & Values

Democratic PA Governor

Early scandal: $1000s in unpaid parking tickets

In one of his early run for public office, it came out that Ed Rendell, now Pennsylvania's governor, had thousands of dollars in unpaid parking tickets. His wife had driven the government car and parked it for hours in front of her beauty parlor. Rendell lost that race but then came back to win years later. The candidate who steps out of a race in the light of an unanswerable attack can save millions--and save his party from a big defeat.
