Sara Rodriguez on Government Reform

I support automatic voter registration

I support automatic voter registration. When people get their driver's license, we already know if they're eligible to vote, so why make them take another step? Other states do this. I also support making Election Day a state holiday. Too many people can't get time off work to stand in long lines. My mom is 80, and she still votes in person. My son is 18, and he gets his news from TikTok and YouTube. We need to meet people where they are and make voting accessible across generations.

Open to cutting byzantine rules for building housing

Rodriguez said she was open to removing red tape at the state level that would allow more apartments and houses to be built. Before the end of this year--well before the 2026 election-- Rodriguez said she would gather a panel of residents, developers, and local governments across Wisconsin to discuss where the state could cut any "byzantine" rules that make it more difficult to build more homes, Rodriguez said.
