Scott Jensen on Government Reform

Dead people voted in 2020; it's time for election integrity

All five Republican gubernatorial hopefuls were asked the same first question during the debate: "In your opinion, did President Biden win a constitutional majority in the electoral college?" Not a single candidate expressed confidence in the long-certified results. Jensen said, "I can't know what I don't know. And I think we have to take that attitude toward 2020," he said, mentioning a Republican-led audit in Maricopa County that found zero discrepancies. Jensen also said there have been "enough shenanigans," adding it's time to address "election integrity." He also said he believes dead people voted. None of the candidates specifically explained which states' results they believe weren't valid.

Follow Trump in reducing rules and regulations

Some of his other campaign planks include no mask mandate for school kids, no vaccine passports, no vaccine mandate in the private sector or emergency lockdowns that don't work.

"We need to follow President [Donald] Trump's model," Jensen said. "His legacy will be policy. He reduced rules and regulations and put good judges in place. He went after NATO and NAFTA and trail-blazed issues. That's what we'll do. But we'll do something different and engage groups that weren't before."

COVID: Enact emergency power reform led by science

Governor Walz used faulty modeling of the pandemic to shut down businesses, devastating jobs and incomes. Science and neighboring states show we can now open safely open up our state. We can use science to utilize masks where needed or other precautions as the science and numbers dictate. What we can never do again is allow bad modeling to drive policy and never again allow the power grab Tim Walz has forced on Minnesota. We must have emergency power reform and we must let science lead the way.

Emergency powers shouldn't be used to change election laws

We need to have faith in our elections and their outcomes. Our State Constitution demands that the legislature be the only body to change election rules and laws. Democrats ignored the State's Constitution and unilaterally changed how we held our election in 2020. They did this by taking advantage of the Governor's emergency powers while there was ample time to seek a bipartisan and legal solution. Backroom deals and emergency powers should not have been used to change election laws.
