Pushed for federal COVD testing to gather race statistics
I called Ayanna about soe question [regarding COVID testing that was being set up by the federal government]. What did she know? What had she heard?
Who had access to the tests and who didn't?The more we talked, the more concerned we both became. Who was getting tested? Gender and age--that kind of information was being collected systematically.
But other information like race and ethnicity, was either very spotty or not collected at all, especially at the federal level.
And this could be important. If, for example, white communities had plenty of tests available and black and brown did not, there would be no way to know.

Healthy MOMMIES Act: expand Medicaid
From the most local to the highest federal offices, candidates are expected to reflect the melange that is America. During 2018, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Representative Pressley [both] defeated ten-term Democratic incumbents. Pressley campaigned on
a platform of being more responsive to the increasingly diverse legislative district. New congressional leaders have each made their mark by advocating for legislative issues that propelled them to victory. For representative Cortez, her promotion of
the Green New Deal capitulated the resolution into national discourse. Representative Pressley, who ran on a platform of expanded access for the poor and minorities, has introduced legislation, known as The Healthy Mommies Act, to expand Medicaid
coverage in an attempt to provide comprehensive parental, labor and post-partum care with an extension of existing medical pregnancy funding and tackle maternity morality, which kills black women at a rate three times higher than white women.

Obamacare should be further implemented
Ayanna believes that we must defend the gains made under Obamacare, and that we must push further to implement a
Medicare for All system that will make healthcare even more accessible.

Pressley opposes the PVS survey question on repealing ObamaCare
Project Vote Smart inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Health Care: Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?'
PVS self-description: "The Political Courage Test provides voters with positions on key issues. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
