In Upstate New York, sustainability and clean natural resources are essential to continue our long tradition of agriculture. In the Assembly, I took bold steps to push for more alternative energy and protect New York's air and water. I'm proud to have the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and New York LCV because it means we're one step closer to a Congress that values environmental protection and will hold accountable those who don't. Opposes rolling back environmental protection regulations

[Brindisi's Republican opponent Claudia Tenney said], "Under President Obama's tenure, the EPA was more focused on pushing a radical ideological agenda and shutting down the coal industry than protecting the environment. We had a crisis in Flint (Michigan) where residents did not have access to clean, drinkable water while the EPA fumbled. President Trump's EPA is putting ideology aside and protecting our air and water."

[Brindisi responded], "When it comes to the environment, I want to be a congressman like Congressman Sherwood Boehlert, who was a leader on environmental protection, because I believe protecting our environment should not be a partisan issue. Scientists all agree that climate change is real and caused by humans and we are already seeing its devastating impact. I'm very concerned about rolling back important rules that protect the environment and public health."
