Never forget the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform

We must stand by every promise we made to the men and women who have served our nation in uniform, never forgetting their sacrifices. That includes improving the services, response times and outreach by the Veterans Administration (VA). For younger veterans who have served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, the challenges of PTSD are real and it is our duty to deliver research dollars that get to the bottom of it and ensure our soldiers have the medical resources they need when they return home. It must also be our commitment to help our soldiers and guardsmen transition back into civilian life and the civilian workforce, by improving job placement services, training and outreach to help our veterans land good-paying jobs. We must also make sure that the families of our troops have the resources they need while their loved ones are serving all of us abroad.
