Immigrants infect America with Third World diseases

Because the vast majority of immigrants, legal and illegal, now come from rural areas, towns, and cities of the most impoverished nations of the hemisphere, where sanitation is often poor and health care nonexistent, they impose other costs upon the American people.

High among these is the appearance among us of diseases that never before afflicted us and the sudden reappearance of contagious diseases that researchers and doctors eradicated long ago. Malaria, polio, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and such rarities of the Third World as dengue fever, Chagas' disease, and leprosy are surfacing here.

For 40 years, only 900 cases of leprosy or Hansen's disease had been diagnosed in the US; in the first 3 years of the 21st century, 7,000 cases were discovered. Some of the TB diagnosed is not the multi-drug-resistant strain. 3 countries, all of which send immigrants and illegal aliens to America, account for 2/3 of all TB cases: Mexico, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Supports catastrophic health insurance, privately paid

In ‘92 there were 36 million Americans without health insurance. That’s now up to something like 44 or 45 million Americans. I think we have to take a look at some way to provide every American who’s willing to pay something with catastrophic health insurance so that something doesn’t happen which basically wipes out the family’s security through no fault of theirs. Abolish euthanasia; fight “Culture of Death”

The campaign to legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia of the mentally disabled, the gravely ill, and the elderly, gains ground yearly. The Culture of Death must be fought on moral as well as legal grounds. We need a President who will declare war on the Culture of Death, not act as its principal collaborator, and fight from the day he takes his oath of office, until he leaves office.
