Mike Cox on Civil Rights

For genuine equality instead of backwards DEI practices

In an era of expanding DEI mandates, Mike has long fought for genuine equality instead of backwards "diversity, equity, and inclusion" practices. As Attorney General, he vigorously championed--and later defended in court--the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI), which amended the state constitution to ban racial discrimination. When liberal interests tried to undermine MCRI, Mike stood firm, ensuring every Michigander is judged by character and merit, not progressive identity markers.

OpEd: Consistent positions that harm the GLBT community

According to the director of policy for the Triangle Foundation, Cox's ruling is in line with his poor record on the our community's issues. "Mike Cox has consistently taken positions that will harm the GLBT community," said the director. "He wanted Proposal 2 on the ballot which put our fundamental right to a family up to a vote of our neighbors. He demanded that Governor Granholm's executive order banning anti-gay discrimination did not apply to his office, even though it did."
