Will Boyd on Health Care

Alabama should expand Medicaid, 90% paid by federal govt.

[Dr. Will Boyd on Medicaid expansion]: "Right now, if we were to expand Medicaid, it would be at a tune of about $228 million cost to Alabama--90% of that cost would be taken care of by the federal government. That means we would only pay, Alabamians, about $22.8 million to expand Medicaid. On the flip side, that would bring in about $397,000,000 to our state," said Boyd. "We have a plan that would put 20,000 people to work with this expansion of Medicaid."
