Prayer in school is not about separating church & state
Prayer in School: This is a State and local issue. I send my children to Catholic school so for me personally it is not an issue. However, I believe that the separation of church and state issue has gotten blown way out of proportion. The initial
separation of Church and State as conceived by the Founding Fathers was to prevent the establishment of a state religion. Believe me, I never want to see the establishment of a state religion as current history shows that doesn't seem to work real well.
McEnulty supports the following principles regarding education.
Allow parents to use vouchers to send their children to any public school, private or religious school.
Allow teachers and professionals to receive federal funding to establish charter or magnet schools.
Eliminate all federal education standards and testing requirements for K-12 students (No Child Left Behind).
McEnulty says, "Education is a state and local issue. The Federal Government should provide appropriate funding to the states, but then get out of the way and let them work as they see fit.
One has to believe that all states want good education for their children and that they will do what they believe is best to make that happen.
