from 2016 N.H. CNN Democratic Town Hall (number of quotes indicated):
  • Bernie Sanders (2)
  • Hillary Clinton (3)
OR click on an issue category below for a subset.

  • This "Town Hall" took place on Feb. 3, 2016, in the leadup to the New Hampshire primary on Feb. 9, 2016.

  • A "Town Hall" means that each candidate appears on stage one at a time, and is questioned directly by the audience, then re-directed by the moderator.

  • In the first Town Halls, the questions were "softballs" -- just very polite questions from supporters or people moderately opposed to the candidate. But the format improved over time, and the questions got tougher -- hence we include the "Town Halls" as if they were debates.
