Elizabeth Emken on Civil Rights

Define marriage as between one man and one woman

I agree with the majority of Californians and even with the President on this issue: marriage should be defined as between one man and one woman.

Equal pay for women should start with politicians' staffers

Dianne Feinstein is one of several Senate Democrats pushing the Paycheck Fairness Act that pay their female staffers significantly less than their male staffers. "It's bad enough that Dianne Feinstein is out of touch with California voters on virtually every important issue. She can't even keep track of her own payroll problems, just more proof that we need new leadership now. I doubt Senator Feinstein has any idea what goes on in her own office, between staff-created Twitter posts and a gender pay gap that would embarrass most business owners. It's the height of hypocrisy to accuse Republicans of trying to turn back the clock on women's rights while the hard-working women in your employ are earning an average of $21,000 less--that's 41 percent lower than the men. Senator, heal thyself."

Supports defining traditional marriage.

Emken supports the CC Voters Guide question on same-sex marriage

Christian Coalition publishes a number of special voter educational materials including the Christian Coalition Voter Guides, which provide voters with critical information about where candidates stand on important faith and family issues. The Christian Coalition Voters Guide summarizes candidate stances on the following topic: "Maintaining current federal law defining marriage as one man and one woman"
