Second Amendment is the first right among equals

I strongly support the right to bear arms as guaranteed by our Founding Fathers in our Constitution. They trusted an armed citizenry as the best safeguard against the possibility of a tyrannical government. Our founders distrusted a government that wouldn't trust its people. I believe like anyone else who supports the Bill of Rights that the Second Amendment remains the first right among equals, because it is the one we turn to when all else fails. No gun ban, no gun lawsuits

I do not believe that government bureaucrats should decide what firearms honest Americans can possess for lawful purposes. In the U.S. Senate, I will oppose any efforts to revive the Clinton gun ban and oppose any other proposal to curtail the right to bear arms. I will co-sponsor legislation to shield gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits, and repeal other legislation that protects the right of innocent Americans to protect themselves and their families.
