John Spencer on Abortion
|
Overturn Roe v. Wade
Spencer says he wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned. But, he said, he is not intent on imposing penalties for women who have abortions or doctors who perform the procedures.
He said he would move to divert state and federal money that currently goes to fund abortions to instead go to counseling programs aimed at promoting adoption.

Favor adoption over abortion
Spencer said his views on abortion and adoption are based largely on his own experience of being adopted by an Irish family in Yonkers when he was an infant. "What I would hope for is a governor and state that, over time, would get more into counseling
and the human side of abortion with troubled young women, because it's not just an aborted baby issue," Mr. Spencer said. "It's a women's issue. I've cried with these women. What I would do is get more into adoption."

I am Pro-Life while my opponent is Faux-life
"Our critics call themselves pro-choice. But have they ever stopped to think that the unborn never have a choice? When Roe v. Wade goes--as I have faith it must--the way of Dred Scott and 'separate but equal', a new debate will rise in the
statehouses of our land. And the voice that I believe must be heard and, in the end, shall be heard over all the others is the voice of life."
-- President Ronald Reagan, January 13, 1989
"Ronald Reagan never argued that
Roe v. Wade should be overturned."
-- Peter Santiago campaign manager, Cox for Senate, Aug. 19, 2005Ed Cox?Faux Life?opposes overturning Roe v. Wade?Fraudulently claimed to hold Pres. Reagan's position that Roe shouldn't be overturned.
John Spencer?Pro-Life?As the only Reagan Republican, John Spencer supports the inalienable right to life from conception to natural death and like Pres. Reagan, Spencer supports overturning Roe v. Wade and sending the issue back to states.
