More support and advocacy for farmers

Farming is an important industry in Vermont. As a member of the US Senate I will be an advocate for Vermont farmers and make sure they receive the support they need to remain a vital and profitable part of our state. If I had been in Congress I would have stood up for farmers and voted no on the 2007 Agriculture Appropriations Bill. A bill which Rep. Raise the federal minimum wage, and tie in COLA increases

Q: What is your position on the federal minimum wage?

A: To begin, the federal minimum wage should be raised to equal Vermont's. In addition, to stop the partisan battles which occur over raising the figure, we need to find a consistent method of setting the federal minimum wage, such as tying increases to the Cost-of-Living Adjustment.
