Chris Rothfuss on Tax Reform

Democratic Challenger

Make taxes more progressive

Q: Do you support the statement, "Make taxes more progressive"?

A: Support. Taxes are not currently equitable. Although I do not believe a 'flat tax' is realizable or practical due to the complexity of our system, I'd like to see us at least approximate a 'flat tax' in practice.

We don't need more taxes

The strength of our economy in the coming decades will depend on us finding creative and effective solutions to our health care dilemma and our energy crisis. It will rest upon our investment in the education of our children. However, it will also require sensible economic policy and government spending. I can assure you right now that we don't need more taxes. We need less spending, and more sensible spending.
