Scott Kleeb on Social Security

Democratic Challenger

Supports COLA reform and Notch reform

Q: The Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) that seniors are currently receiving does not accurately reflect how they must spend their money. Do you support COLA Fairness, based on the consumer price index (CPI) for seniors?

A: Yes.

Q: The Senior Citizens League members are to a large extent Notch babies--those individuals who receive lower Social Security benefits because they were born in the years 1917 and immediately thereafter. Do you support Notch Reform?

A: Yes.

Privatization only serves Wall Street, not Main Street

Q: Do you support Social Security Reform or Privatization?

A: The Social Security program was intended to be a public service for those who built this great nation. Privatization of this program only serves Wall Street, not Main Street--and it certainly does not serve America's seniors. I will support and advocate for Social Security reform that is both comprehensive and preserves the long-term solvency of the program so today's seniors--and tomorrow's--receive the benefits they deserve.
