Scott Kleeb on Principles & Values

Democratic Challenger

Always keep Nebraska's interest first

We need to make sure that the next senator from the United States from Nebraska will always keep Nebraska's interest first, Kleeb said.

"Focus on your small towns--I did it as governor; I did it as secretary," Johanns said.

Emphasizes uniting people behind change

Kleeb emphasizes his desire to unite people behind change, while Raimondo stresses his 40 years in business and his interest in economic development and global trade.

Kleeb, 32, is a Hastings College history instructor who ran for Nebraska's 3rd District House seat two years ago. Raimondo, 68, helped turn around Behlen Manufacturing Co. in the mid-1980s.

Fourth generation Nebraskan raised on homesteading stories

A fourth generation Nebraskan, Scott Kleeb grew up listening to his grandfather's homesteading stories and learned the values that would come to shape his life. Scott learned the value of hard work and self-reliance, but he also learned that Nebraskans depend on each, in good times and bad. This simple idea--born on the hard plains of Nebraska in the 19th century and passed down through generations of Kleebs--called Scott to teaching as his profession and drives his call to public service today.
