Eleni Kounalakis on Foreign Policy

Educate students to national security importance of Israel

Kounalakis called for schools to clearly identify "where the lines are" to enact disciplinary measures. She called students chanting "from the river to the sea" outrageous. "We have to fight back and educate our students (so they) understand the very importance morally and from a national security standpoint of the existence, celebration and empowerment of Israel in the region," Kounalakis said.

International relations must be "win-win" to avoid conflict.

Political and military tensions in the Far East are rising as China chooses to flex its newfound and growing military and economic capabilities in their neighborhood. International relations cannot be based on a transactional "win-lose" mentality. They must be "win-win." Why? Because the losers don't forget when they feel humiliated and it spurs feelings of resentment. Mistakes, misunderstandings, missteps and sometimes even bruised egos can lead to wars, which all leaders must seek to avoid.
