Accomplishments as Mayor in revitalizing our waterfront & parks:
In partnership with the federal government, redeveloped and beautified the Sewaren waterfront with a new boat launch and park, trees, pedestrian walkway & other amenities.
With the county, developed a project to create a 39 acre, $5 million park on the Sewaren Peninsula.
Secured in excess of $5 million to construct traffic and roadway infrastructure improvements in the Metro Park area.
Provided for a $5 million revitalization of Fords Parks, complete with improved ballfields, tennis and basketball courts and roller hockey facilities.
Completed the renovation and improvement of Woodbridge Township’s three train stations.
Invested $1 million in revitalizing neighborhood parks complete with new & safer playground equipment.
Initiated the environmental remediation & cleanup of a municipal landfill and the redevelopment of the site as a $17 million Community Center.

Legislative accomplishments:
Sponsored the Pollution Prevention Act, one of the most innovative and effective environmental programs in the country. By working to reduce emissions at the source, toxic pollutants have been cut by 50%.
Received
the 1992 Best Bet Award for Environmental Achievement from the National Center for Policy Alternatives [for that Act].
Sponsored prohibiting night-time oil transfer- an environmental measure designed to protect the Arthur Kill from oil spills.
