Mike Duggan on Immigration

We'll fight the terrorists but welcome their victims

Amid growing opposition from Republicans, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said today that he welcomes refugees to Detroit and is confident in the vetting process to screen out potential security threats. "Detroit is a welcoming community and it's welcoming refugees, whether they come from Africa or Iraq or Syria," Duggan said. "We'll fight the terrorists but provide refuge to their victims. That's what this country is all about. ...We'll do our fair share."
