ICE has abused Idahoans and behaved lawlessly

A: It's clear that Idahoans want safety. It's also clear that very few want cruelty. ICE has behaved lawlessly. ICE has killed citizens. The state needs to take its protection role seriously and monitor, investigate, and stop ICE from violating our constitutional rights.

Q: Do you support the state requiring law enforcement agencies entering into 287(g) agreements with ICE?

A: The 287(g) agreements don’t make Idahoans safer. I want our state agencies to remain independent from federal agencies. ICE has abused Idahoans, but arresting--at gunpoint--citizens during a family event in Wilder last year. Since our governor endorsed the action, we all remain at risk of being swept up and tied up by masked forces who are not accountable to state authority. No person should go to work fearing that their skin color and accent may get them thrown into an American concentration camp or shackled, hooded, and dumped into some Third World Country prison.

Require people entering our country to abide by our laws

• We are country of immigrants.
• We should require people entering our country to abide by our laws.
• People who enter our country illegally should be treated humanely despite having broken immigration laws.
• Violent criminals should be stopped from entering and deported if they succeed in entering our country illegally.
• The US needs immigrant workers and we should make sure we have simple and easy ways for them to work here.
