Jason Smith on Gun Control

Oppose forced gun registrations & restrictions on ownership

Your right to bear arms is as fundamental as every other right protected by the Bill of Rights. If elected, I will work to protect your constitutionally guaranteed right by opposing efforts that restrict ownership, possession, or the carrying of a firearm. I will oppose the attempts of politicians in Washington D.C. to force registration of your firearms and of bureaucrats that work to circumvent our laws to collect your private information.

Too often politicians in Washington use tragic events to force through legislation that is not needed. The fact of the matter is there has not been a single new restriction or law introduced that would have stopped these tragedies. I will not back down and I will not compromise our rights as citizens.
