Higher prices for tariffs will help pay off national debt

The senator is convinced the debt can be shaved by 25% over time using new tariff dollars. "Oh, yeah, yeah, but it's not going to be through taxes. The American people are taxed enough as it is. A lot of people don't like the tariffs and I can understand that. We're having to pay a little more at the grocery store, clothing, things that are made in this country, but for us to pay our debt now, most of it's got to come through tariffs," said Senator Tuberville. Reclaiming manufacturing from China will take care of itself

Q: How to overcome dependence on Chinese goods and specifically in the pharmaceutical industry?

TUBERVILLE: Now we're seeing firsthand the results of letting everything go to China. The good thing about this is we'll have manufacturing come back and drugs and all those things. We're headed in that direction, just the simple fact that we can't control our own destiny. Everything's controlled by China. But that'll take care of itself.
