Path to Promise: comprehensive youth plan

Dutchess County's "Path to Promise" begins by funding and leading a comprehensive analysis and development of a plan of action for our youth. We have committed $500K to review programs and services, identify how they're offered, what are the defined outcomes, are we succeeding, and where are the gaps in service. We will consider every age group from birth to college, every community, and every provider--from churches to not-for-profits, schools to governments. Opposed equal marriage rights for same-sex couples

Excerpts from legislation: AN ACT to amend the domestic relations law. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "Marriage Equality Act". Marriage is a fundamental human right. Same-sex couples should have the same access as others to the protections, responsibilities, rights, obligations, and benefits of civil marriage. Stable family relationships help build a stronger society. For the welfare of the community and in fairness to all New Yorkers, this act formally recognizes otherwise-valid marriages without regard to whether the parties are of the same or different sex. It is the intent of the legislature that the marriages of same-sex and different-sex couples be treated equally in all respects under the law.

Help those living with developmental disabilities
I have a deep personal interest in helping those living with developmental disabilities. As the father of a child on the Autism Spectrum living with developmental disabilities, my greatest concern is ensuring greater acceptance, inclusion & respect for her and those like her. Tens of thousands of New York families face this same uncertainty, yet New York has failed to prioritize what should be seen as a genuine priority for any caring society.
