Less than 1 month ago, the nation once again turned its eyes towards New Hampshire. Just as we have for the last 100 years, we hosted our First in the Nation Presidential Primary. Our place at the front of the nominating calendar is never given--it is always fought for, earned, and won. We take on the responsibility of getting the process right--and this year was no exception. We are committed to breaking down regulatory barriers

This budget includes landmark legislation to grant universal license recognition for the professions in New Hampshire. If you have a substantially similar license and are in good standing in another state, there's no reason you shouldn't have a license on Day One in New Hampshire! If a small business owner needs a license to operate in their current state -- New Hampshire will recognize their license here, incentivizing working professionals across the nation to move to New Hampshire.

My budget creates an independent Office of Regulatory Review and Government Efficiency to be a watchdog to eliminate and prevent frivolous rules and regulations as well as to find efficiencies within state government. We are committed to breaking down regulatory barriers, lowering the cost of entry to do business here, increasing free-market competition, and signaling to the rest of America that New Hampshire is the #1 state in America for Economic Freedom.

Vetoed advocacy groups having to report receipts

Q: Require more disclosure about the sources of campaign financing?

Chris Sununu: No. Vetoed bill requiring issues advocacy organizations to register and report receipts. Says it is "unnecessary and would have a chilling effect on our citizens' rights."

Dan Feltes: Yes. Sponsored bill to ban corporate contributions. Calls it "important" to increase disclosure of campaign contributions and election spending.

Vetoed automatic registration, no-excuse absentee voting

Q: Support stricter ID requirements and other rules on voting?

Chris Sununu: Yes. Vetoed bills establishing automatic voter registration and no-excuse absentee voting. Signed bill law that, before a court limited its reach, required college students who voted to re-register cars in the state.

Dan Feltes: No. "Voting rights are under attack as part of systematic effort." Seeks automatic voter registration, online voter registration, and permanent no-excuse absentee voting.
