Non-interventionist foreign policy, plus Monroe Doctrine

I advocate a non-interventionist's foreign policy. I believe America is best protected and respected by following the Monroe doctrine and Washington's advice to the Citizens of his time to stay out of entangling alliances. Setting up regimes and tearing down governments has nothing but a potential to destroy our way of life. Practically every dictator or ruler we've put into power has turned into a bitter enemy: Castro, Saddam, Bin Laden, the Shah.
