Joyce Dickerson on Principles & Values

For various reasons, I won't campaign for Hillary in 2016

I just don't feel the excitement I used to feel about Hillary. She should have admitted her error over the e-mail scandal; instead she dragged it out before apologizing. At the first hint of a challenge from Senator Sanders, she should have become more visible, voluble and open to interrogation, as he is. Instead she became more distant and controlled. I really have no plans to campaign for Mrs. Clinton. She didn't make calls for me, so I'm not going to make calls for her.

Served as vice chair of Richland County Council

Nine members of Richland County Council have selected Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson to serve as Vice Chair of the Council. In her new appointment, along with the Chairman, Norman Jackson, Councilwoman Dickerson will maintain order during Council meetings, decide what items make it onto agendas and represent Council at public functions.

"I am extremely honored to serve in this new capacity," Dickerson said. "I am committed to my constituents and the County. My goal is to ensure that the County's business is handled as judiciously as possible. That is the best way to serve my community."

Dickerson is currently serving her third term on Richland County Council, representing District 2. She has previously served as Chair of the Administration and Finance Committee and the Development and Services Committee.

I am hooked up to two IV's: Christianity and politics

I am hooked up to two intravenous contraptions (IV's)--Christianity and politics. I have a spiritual IV in one arm and a political IV in the other. That is to say, I am well connected, and fully loaded for battle. [Pundits say] there are three types of power on this earth: the power of the people, the power of the press, and the power of the pen. The truth is there is a fourth: the power of the Almighty God who placed so many incredible women in my life to be my guiding lights.
