2nd Amendment deters tyranny; not just self-defense
Q: Do you agree that you "Support the 2nd amendment but we shouldn't need it"?A: True. Added/clarified stances:
- 2nd Amendment is a provision to deter tyranny rather than just self-defense.
- Wording of amendment places no limits on types
of "arms".
- 2nd Amendment calls for "regulated militia" of local citizens, not a centralized army.
- Important for people, including the Supreme Court justices, to start understanding it.
- Keep UN out of all internal US issues.

Favors absolute right to gun ownership
Q: Your opinion on our VoteMatch statement, "Absolute right to gun ownership"?A: Favor We MUST understand the original intent of the 2nd Amendment.
I do support background checks, but I'd change the approach. We ought to return to maintaining local militias, with no Federal control.

Support 2nd amendment but we shouldn't need it
Q: What is your opinion on the right to gun ownership?A: Support with side thoughts. I support the 2nd Amendment but I believe we shouldn't need it. I believe we need to start asking the questions about why we are in a position of having to defend
ourselves from others. Perhaps there's a better solution and we need to be seeking it such that we don't need guns anymore. If we ask the question expecting an answer and keep doing that until we find the answer we're looking for then we'll find it.
