Asset forfeiture allows the government to seize property without even accusing you of committing a crime. For example, if anyone gambled in your home, even a single dollar on the Super Bowl, and even if you didn't know about it, the government can seize all contents of your home and padlock it for one year. Or if two unmarried persons have a lover's meeting in your house, they can seize the house and all contents and padlock it for one year. Whether or not they had sexual intercourse, you can be punished. Confiscating assets from people who haven't been convicted or even accused of a crime is outrageous, an arbitrary and unfair disguised form of taxation.
