Bert Mizusawa on Government Reform

I will ban congressional stock trading

Stop Corruption: "For too long, members of Congress have gotten rich while the people they represent fall further behind. As Senator, I will ban congressional stock trading, so politicians put their constituents first, not themselves."

The SAVE America Act is so essential for a democracy

[On filibuster reform, which currently allows a single Senator to block legislation]: "Yes, I would actually ask [Majority Leader] John Thune to change the Senate rules, get rid of the filibuster. The SAVE America Act is so essential for a democracy. We need to get that through. And then if he can change the rules back, fine. But let's get that through. Let's get all the black-and-white issues passed. So, I'm a big proponent of doing that."

Oppose using eminent domain to benefit private projects

Reliable and affordable energy is essential, but it should not come at the expense of private property rights, productive farmland, or the character of local communities. As a U.S. Senator, I would defend Virginians against federal overreach and oppose using federal eminent domain to benefit private commercial projects.
