Competition is what's good for education
Manchin brought up the importance of adding more accountability in the education system. "We have to start demanding more and more accountability, responsibility," said Manchin. "There is an audit going on in West Virginia now and
I hope they adopt this audit in the legislature to make the changes that need to be made to improve education in the state of West Virginia."Raese, on the other hand, said that competition is what's good for education.
But he didn't stop there, he added that competition is also good for
America and West Virginia.

Allow families a voucher to send kids to private schools
Manchin says the state can and needs to do much better on public education, but he wants to keep public education infrastructure strong. "I don't believe in getting rid of the Department of Education," Manchin said.Raese wants more opportunities
for programs that would allow families a voucher to send their children to private schools, which he says create competition and improve the quality of education. "We don't need a federal education system to set our curriculum," Raese said.

Vouchers let all families choose like wealthy families
The federal department of education has literally pumped billions and billions of dollars into public schools and American students still lag behind students in other countries. One way to improve education is to give every child the opportunity to get
the best education, and that means school choice vouchers. Wealthy families can choose whether to send their children to public or private school, but the overwhelming majority of families cannot offer their children that choice.

Break education monopoly; competition will improve schools
If you’re a taxpayer sending money to the government, and you prefer that money be used to send your child to a private school, then you should be able to receive a voucher from the government to help pay the tuition. There should be no monopoly on
education in this country.Experience from business teaches us that competition is good for everyone involved. If families have the opportunity to choose which schools they go to, then it will be in the interest of every school to improve its standards

Supports education vouchers for public or private school.
Raese supports the CC survey question on school vouchers
The Christian Coalition voter guide [is] one of the most powerful tools Christians have ever had to impact our society during elections. This simple tool has helped educate tens of millions of citizens across this nation as to where candidates for public office stand on key faith and family issues.
The CC survey summarizes candidate stances on the following topic: "Education vouchers that allow parents to choose public or private school for their children"
