Mark Gordon on Tax Reform

$1M to extend the Property Tax Refund Program for a year

We must address the concerns of our most vulnerable and those living on a fixed income who are feeling the inflationary pinch especially today. I have proposed an additional $1 million to extend the Property Tax Refund Program for another year. I urge you to support that and consider other means to deal with property tax relief.

Reorganize government instead of raising taxes

[Asked about revenue], "I'm absolutely about economic diversification," Gordon said, but "I don't think we need to raise taxes. There are other ways. We can reorganize government." Gordon has not signed a no-tax pledge.

He acknowledged the question will arise if Wyoming chooses to grow beyond the minerals industry. "If we are committed to diversifying into other sectors that will not augment our mineral industry," he said, "then we're going to have to talk about what that tax structure means."
