John Hager strongly supports the Substance Abuse Reduction Effort (SABRE). SABRE toughens punishment against drug kingpins by increasing mandatory minimum sentences and by lowering the thresholds for qualifying as a kingpin. It increases mandatory
sentences for furnishing firearms to a child, for selling drugs in a drug-free school zone, and for chronic drug possession & drug sales to support addiction. From first-time drug offenders, SABRE requires community service, and drug testing & treatment.
