Polluter pays; greenhouse inventory; renewable energy

Proposals for Cleaner Air
1. Clean house at the TNRCC and appoint citizens representing the public interest, not polluters.
2. Devise an air pollution abatement program for the state that follows the "polluter pays" principle.
3. Eliminate the current polluter's discount in the payment of fees for air emissions, and use resulting increases in funds to pay for better, more effective enforcement of clean air laws.
4. Create an inventory of greenhouse gas emission sources. This will provide the basis for a global warming reductions plan.
5. Create a viable clean air plan that attacks pollution at its source.
6. Establish incentives for lower emitting vehicles and the use of fuels of the future.
7. The current goal for 10% of our energy to come from renewable energy sources by 2020 is the minimum of what we should expect. We will strive for even higher percentages.
8. Increase support for renewable energy & also support efforts to build up the infrastructure that transmits this energy.
