Susan Bysiewicz on War & Peace

War only as a last resort against Iran

Bysiewicz said war in Iran should only be used "as a last resort," in talks to stop the country's nuclear weapons plan. Murphy said he thinks Iranians should "know it's always on the table. But both agreed that economic sanctions should be the United States' main tactic.

We should get troops out of Afghanistan yesterday

Discussing foreign affairs and defense, Bysiewicz and Matthew Oakes took the strongest position against the U.S. presence in Afghanistan. "How fast should we get out of Afghanistan? They (troops) should be home yesterday," she said.

Oakes said, "We've got to bring them home before one more person dies in Afghanistan. Period."

Candidates backed continued sanctions on Iran, with only Murphy adding military action should remain on the table.

Remove all troops from Iraq as soon as safely possible

"It is imperative that the United States bring our young men and women home and reallocate funding to focus on building our own economy and creating jobs for the returning troops."

Responsible decisions for Iraq: Susan believes it is critical to follow the U.S.-Iraqi agreement and remove all troops as soon as safely possible. Our troops have done everything asked of them and more and deserve our continued support when they return home.
