Robert Lorge on Welfare & Poverty

Republican challenger

Cut welfare bureaucracy in half; it undermines families

Q: Do you support or oppose the statement: “Allow churches to provide welfare services”?

A: STRONGLY SUPPORT. I would like to cut the Department of Health & Human Services “bureaucrats” budget for salary and positions in half, and move it all to non-profit groups including churches. The Welfare State and culture of “dependency” is improperly promoted by the overpaid bureaucrats at DH&HS whose political agenda for social change puts them to the far left of the political spectrum for the most part and forces taxpayers to pay for them to promote agendas that undermine families, churches, and non-profit charities that do social service and charity work far better than the DH&HS ever has done.

A job gets you money & ends dependency

“A JOB GETS YOU MONEY”, a Client once told me he told his girlfriend, he was right, a Job ends Dependency, I am for JOBS, QUALITY AMERICAN JOBS as the best solution to welfare and poverty. I would dismantle the DHHS budget and staff by 50% at 5% per year, with job and hiring freezes and cuts, in favor of replacing services with tax incentives that are provided by churches and non-profit charities.
