Antonio Delgado on Tax Reform

Raise revenue on the ultra wealthy and big corporations

[Delgado on why he's primarying his boss]: "Raising revenue on the ultra wealthy and big corporations is a part of that. The governor has refused to do that at any point over the course of her administration, which is not the right approach," Delgado continued. "It's also a mistake to not reevaluate the manner in which we leverage tax subsidies and credits in the name of economic development. We give a lot of these things out to the private sector without really getting a return on investment."

Neglecting to tax the wealthy is hurting nation's future

Delgado said, "We should have a system of taxation that does not vastly benefit the top 1 percent. We are throwing revenue away, throwing it away when we could be investing it in our future. Yes, we should think about where to spend and make cuts where appropriate, but we aren't even doing that -- we're adding a $1.5 trillion dollars to our national deficit over the next ten years, and most of that is the recent tax bill that was passed."

CC:Reverse federal income tax cuts.

Delgado opposes the CC survey question on keeping tax cuts

The Christian Coalition Voter Guide inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Make federal income tax cuts permanent' Christian Coalition's self-description: "Christian Voter Guide is a clearing-house for traditional, pro-family voter guides. We do not create voter guides, nor do we interview or endorse candidates."

PVS:Increase taxes to balance budget.

Delgado supports the PVS survey question on tax increases

Project Vote Smart inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Budget: In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?' PVS self-description: "The Political Courage Test provides voters with positions on key issues. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
