SB447 on CRIMINAL PROCEDURE:˙Allows a judge to set bail, in certain instances, for person arrested while on probation.Veto message by Governor Murphy Foster:˙
Senate Bill No. 447 generally mandates that a court grant bail to a defendant who is arrested while on probation for a prior offense. Present law leaves the matter to the discretion of the court.
Granting a right to bail in this circumstance is undesirable.
