Last week, Senator Burns voted for $3 billion in cuts to commodity, conservation and food programs - Montana's share of those cuts will result in a loss of $4.5 million in payments to Montana. The budget reconciliation package he voted for reduces by 2.5 percent all payments that producers get for the 2006 through 2010 crop years for commodities including wheat, barley, silage and hay. "Senator Burns once again allowed Washington to break its promise to Montana's farmers. We need a Senator that will go out there, keep the promises he makes to the folks back home, and do what he says he will," Morrison said.
